Welcome to Shalom School
Shalom School’s mission is to provide each child with an outstanding education in a nurturing environment that is academically excellent, inclusive, innovative, and inspired by Jewish values and traditions.
Shalom School provides an excellent and nurturing education that serves the whole child. Our rigorous academic curriculum, infused with Jewish values and grounded in tradition, help each child grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and spiritually, laying the groundwork for a lifelong love of learning.
Our Preschool and Pre-k - 6th grade programs offer excellent curriculum, outstanding faculty, and innovative programming to help each child grow and learn. Early exposure to a second language and a rich immersion in the values and rituals of Judaism foster a connection to community and sense of meaning that shapes each Shalom School student, developing empathy and a foundation for future success.

Dear Shalom School community,
It is an honor to serve as Head of School at Shalom School, Sacramento’s only community Jewish day school. Families come to us from across the greater Sacramento region and from every kind of background. As a Jewish day school, we make room for all of them, and what every family finds when they walk through our doors is a school where each child is known by name, by strength, and by need.
That knowing shapes everything we do. In our NAEYC accredited preschool, small ratios and intentional teaching mean our youngest learners are seen as individuals from their very first day. In our elementary program, students learn math and Hebrew at the level that fits them rather than simply the grade they are in, and our fully credentialed teachers challenge each child from exactly where they stand. Rigor here means meeting children where they are and refusing to leave them there. We hold a high academic bar because children rise to the expectations we set for them, and because they deserve nothing less.
Alongside that rigor lives something deeper. Tradition at Shalom School is not an extra. Hebrew, Jewish values, holidays, and a meaningful connection to Israel live inside the school day itself, in science lessons and stories, in songs and Shabbat celebrations, in the way our students learn to care for one another.
And holding all of it together is belonging. We are a community that builds friendships, celebrates together, and shapes the school side by side. For many families, Shalom School becomes a second home, one that grows with a child from eighteen months old through sixth grade.
My commitment to you is simple. I will lead a school where rigor, belonging, and tradition are not words on a wall but the daily experience of every child and every family. I am proud to partner with you in raising the next generation and building the future of Jewish life in Sacramento.
Thank you for being part of Shalom School.
L’shalom,
